Reaching #2 put Scream Loud in the jukeboxes.  Hard to believe, but the flip-side, Psychic (a surf instrumental originally written for Lyle's The Stingrays) also briefly made the local Top 40.

No one wants to claim responsiblity for the errant apostrophe "s" printed on Neil's drum head and our first business cards.  The apostrophe is sometimes needed when searching our name on a website.  This card has Freddie Cannon's autograph on the back, signed when we backed him at "The Place."

Clean-cut like the Beach Boys, and suited like the Beatles.  We played tons of Beatles, but, interestingly, never covered a Beach Boys song.

The Place was definitely THE  place.  Many recording stars, both local and national, performed concerts in this popular auditorium.  It began as "McKay's Place," named after the host, WLAV DJ Dick McKay, but the name was shortened after critisizm of McKay's involvement.

We were sad to see Joey leave (middle in photo), but he stayed upbeat, even though drafted by Uncle Sam.

The Quests were a "West Side" (GR) Story.  Everyone in the band was from West Catholic High School, except Lyle (far right in photo), who was the outsider from Belding, MI.

What red light?  The photographer wanted a candid shot, but stopping traffic in the middle of Monroe Ave, the busiest street in GR, was a bit scarry.

What Can I Do climbed the fastest (that is, until !!#*!@!!)  In just three weeks it surged into the top 25, when we then pulled the record from stores under the advice of DJ, Dick McKay, who said he was contacted by a Detroit record exec who was interested in distributing the record regionally, providing we immediately cease local sales.  Unfortunately, the exec was not heard from again, and the song died an untimely death.

Ron helped us become  #1 in GR.  Stealing him from "The Screaming Babies" made all the difference in our sound, and helped us win the Battle of The Bands.
